Kalani Robinson is a Compton, California native and full time student attending California State University, Los Angeles Majoring in Pan African Studies and a minor in Criminal Justice. She aims to become an upcoming activist in her community by utilizing her education and passion for the black community. In her free time she has taken part in the Black Student Union as the Black Community Programs Director organizing community events in Los Angeles County , hosting political presentations and facilitating discussions. Ms.Robinson works as an Activist/ intern for Students for Quality Education (SQE) to raise awareness on student issues in the CSU’S, educate students on community issues, and fight for “a free, accessible, and quality CSU for all”.
She has also worked for Companies such as Community Coalition, a non profit started by congresswoman Karen Bass, to assistant in summer engagement programs which is what helped spark her interest in wanting to help develop and prepare the youth in los angeles to walk on the path toward their goals and make an open space to help adults in her community land back on their feet after hardships. Her goals after graduating are to attend law school to become a lawyer and join the fight against mass incarceration and with hopes to one day be elected the Mayor of the City of Compton.
